Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
You can add media such as images to the time lines too and once you've created them you can embed them into your blog, wiki or webpage.
The other nice things about this site are that you can compare time lines side by side, it is kind of community based so you can leave comments of time lines and you can also add extra information and embed media such as images and Youtube video into the pages to give extra information about each of the things on your time line.
This would be a great tool for history projects or for building up multimedia narrative for digital story telling.
Hope you enjoy it.

There's also xtimeline: http://www.xtimeline.com/timeline/History-of-the-Olympic-Games which seems quite good.
ReplyDeleteHi Colin
ReplyDeleteYes, I had a look at Xtimeline, but to be honest I wasn't as impressed. I prefer TimeRime because the timeline is much more dynamic and interactive, can be dragged back and forth, collapsed and expended etc. You also get much more of a sense of the spaces between the evnts. On the wonders of the world for example it really gives a sense of how much earlier the Pyramids were than many of the other wonders.
Also one huge advantage is TimeRime's embed code that enables me to put the time line into another page, blog etc.
Anyway, each to their own.
Thanks for the suggestions
Best
Nik
Nick,
ReplyDeleteI do like that you can embed TimeRime into a blog page - I think I'll have a further look at timerime. Thanks, Colin
